Icicle Creek Center for the Arts
Usability research, design and strategy for a new Wordpress website.
Icicle Creek Center for the Arts is a non-profit center for arts education located in an lush green Pacific Northwest setting. Their focus on performing arts instruction along with an ability to produce photo and video assets in-house sparked a drive to fully replace a previous text-heavy website.

The Challenge
Icicle Creek Center for the Arts offers a wide array of classes, workshops, and retreats as well as public performances, accommodations, and facility rentals. I developed and ran a one-day intensive usability workshop with staff and stakeholders that identified and prioritized audiences. Educating the client on a user-centered design and engaging them as active participants resulted in user personas, user flows, IA and wireframes that resonated internally and aligned client, dev and design teams around common goals.
Wordpress was chosen by the client due to past experience with ease of maintenance. Custom theme creation and a custom plugin were created to meet the unique needs of the client, including the integration of a 3rd party ticket sales platform.
